Professor Dr. med. Elmar Gräßel presented the „Digital Dementia Register Bavaria“ on December 2, 2019, at the Cham District Office, in the presence of representatives from care facilities, the medical profession, and volunteers. The head of the Center for Medical Supply Research at the University Hospital Erlangen was pleased with a successful event featuring lively discussion. The participation of people from rural regions of Bavaria is particularly important for the research project in order to identify potential deficits in care.
The Cham District Office therefore acted as an intermediary between digiDEM Bavaria and local institutions. District Administrator Franz Löffler emphasized: „At the end of the day, it's about making life worth living for everyone. For patients and for caregivers.“ Digitalization could help research diseases and therapies. „Our district is excellently suited as a “Gesundheitsregion plus' (Health Region Plus) to participate in the study," Löffler said. A number of visitors apparently shared this view: new research partners for digiDEM Bavaria registered after the presentation.
