Overview of Memory Clinics in Bavaria

If you show signs of mild cognitive impairment, a comprehensive, confirmed diagnosis at a memory clinic is strongly recommended. Your primary care physician can issue a referral if necessary.

The Competence Center for Dementia and Care Bavaria is the central point of contact for all questions regarding dementia in Bavaria. It offers free information and support and is based in Nuremberg. In addition, there are regional specialized centers in the individual administrative districts. The website also provides a service map for all of Bavaria.

German Alzheimer Society e.V. Self-Help Dementia: Bavarian State Association and Regional Locations

The German Alzheimer Society e.V. Self-help Dementia has been supporting and advising people with dementia and their families since the 1980s. In Bavaria, 26 regional Alzheimer's societies and two Alzheimer's self-help groups are active. The Bavarian State Association offers an overview with contact details and information from the individual administrative districts.

The Federal Ministry of Health provides addresses and phone numbers of associations, self-help groups, and other organizations that deal with the topic of dementia. Additionally, there is a free “Dementia Guidebook” available for download. It contains extensive information, from basic knowledge about dementia and tips for dealing with those affected to explanations about care services.

The German Alzheimer Society e.V. Self-help Dementia has been supporting and advising people with dementia and their families since the 1980s. The federal association is based in Berlin, and the self-help organization also has 136 member societies in all federal states.
