Webinar: Another digital offering from digiDEM Bavaria: The Dementia Knowledge Test – with Prof. Dr. med. Peter Kolominsky-Rabas

Nearly 60 percent of the population in Germany has low health literacy, according to a study. Many find it difficult to inform themselves about health topics, evaluate information, and apply it in their daily lives. The advantages of acquiring health literacy are obvious. For example, health and illness problems can be managed more successfully. It has been proven that those who strengthen their health literacy benefit in many ways.

Recently, digiDEM Bayern presented the questionnaire for ”Assessing Memory Performance.” Today, we would like to draw your attention to our latest digital information offering: the Dementia Knowledge Test. In our webinar on this topic, you will learn everything important about digiDEM Bayern's contribution to promoting digital health literacy. The knowledge test takes 15 minutes and is available free of charge on digiDEM-Bayern.de in an easy-to-understand format.

Do people with Alzheimer's dementia live in nursing homes? Can thirty-year-olds develop Alzheimer's dementia? The knowledge test with 30 questions, for example, from the areas of risk factors, care and support, as well as symptoms or disease progression, shows which statements are true or false. When you answer the questions, you will receive a scientifically supported explanation for each of your assessments and, after completing the test, a summary and detailed overview of your results.

More health knowledge leads to greater safety and better protection of one's own health, as well as the health of everyone.

The referent is Prof. Dr. med. Peter Kolominsky-Rabas, head of the Interdisciplinary Center for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Public Health at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and one of the project leaders of digiDEM Bavaria. The neurologist reports on the scientific basis of the new digiDEM Bavaria offering, the importance of health literacy, and why everyone should take 15 minutes for the knowledge test.
