Hören & Demenz – Teil 2

Listening & Dementia – Part 2

Limited hearing can affect a person's social situation. In addition to making communication difficult, our sense of hearing also influences other areas of our lives. Many people are affected by hearing loss and the resulting problems in everyday life. Furthermore, numerous studies already show a link between hearing loss and dementia. But how can this be treated and what screening options are available for deaf people with dementia? Our webinar will focus in particular on the preventive treatment of hearing loss in connection with dementia.

Untreated hearing loss can increase the risk of dementia. To counteract this, hearing aids such as hearing devices can proactively reduce the risk of dementia. Therefore, the path to these medical devices and the diagnosis of hearing loss should not be overlooked in relation to dementia. In the second part of our webinar series on the complex topic of „Hearing and Dementia,“ you will learn about the known treatment options for hearing loss, the existing scientific findings, and how dementia screening for the deaf is possible.

Here you will find parts 1 and 3 of the webinars on the topic of „Hearing and Dementia“:

With the webinar series „Science Watch LIVE,“ we offer an additional service to our monthly newsletter digiDEM Bavaria Science Watch, where we provide scientific findings from dementia research.

Against the backdrop of widespread half-truths and fake news, currently, for example, concerning the new coronavirus, evidence-based science is in demand. It is more important than ever to communicate scientific findings in a way that is understandable to society and to promote an exchange about them. This is what we at the digiDEM Bavaria project team would like to contribute to, now also with digiDEM Bavaria Science Watch LIVE.
