Webinar: Digital Offerings for Dementia – Safety and Exchange

In the fourth and final part of our webinar series on digital offerings for dementia, we focus on „Safety and Exchange.“ We will present, for example, an app that supports the search for missing people with dementia and a guide to technical aids for seniors. You can watch the webinar again here and feel free to give us feedback in the comments.

Here is the webinar as PDF for download.

Participant Questions and Webinar Team Answers:

How „successful“ is Purple Alert, have people been found through it?

There are no official numbers from the developers regarding the number of people found, but the website does feature a download counter. Purple Alert has already been downloaded over 10,000 times, which suggests it has been well-received by users.

Are there also details on the „Age and Technology“ homepage regarding possible financial assistance from long-term care insurance? Can the products be subsidized as assistive devices?

Yes, that's the case for some products. You can use the “Cost Coverage Possible” filter (bottom right) on the “Products” tab. Products filtered this way have a medical aid number, which can be viewed in the product description.

Support Chatroom & Questions

With the webinar series „Science Watch LIVE,“ we offer an additional service to our monthly newsletter digiDEM Bavaria Science Watch, where we provide scientific findings from dementia research.

Against the backdrop of widespread half-truths and fake news, currently, for example, concerning the new coronavirus, evidence-based science is in demand. It is more important than ever to communicate scientific findings in a way that is understandable to society and to promote an exchange about them. This is what we at the digiDEM Bavaria project team would like to contribute to, now also with digiDEM Bavaria Science Watch LIVE.
