Digitales Angebot von digiDEM Bayern: Beurteilung der Gedächtnisleistung

Digital Offering from digiDEM Bavaria: Assessment of Memory Performance

According to the latest World Alzheimer Report 2021, 75% people with dementia worldwide live without a confirmed diagnosis. A German study reports a similar proportion. According to the study, 60% people do not have a confirmed diagnosis. Digital tools are an essential means of identifying more cases of dementia.

Therefore, the digiDEM Bavaria team will present a new, scientifically validated digital offering in the webinar: ”Assessment of Memory Performance.” This is a globally recognized screening tool for timely diagnostics of dementias. The goal is to capture cognitive changes within the past two years in order to take early action. The offering is available free of charge at digiDEM-bayern.de.

The new offering enables caregivers of people with dementia to reliably assess their memory performance. The questionnaire therefore provides a very good initial orientation towards further diagnostics. If a certain value is reached, comprehensive medical diagnostics at a specialized diagnostic facility, such as a memory clinic, are necessary.

The sooner people with dementia and their loved ones gain certainty, the earlier treatment options can be implemented and support measures planned and coordinated. The memory performance assessment questionnaire is comparable in quality to other diagnostic questionnaires, such as the Mini Mental Status Test (MMST).

In the webinar, you will learn more about the scientific basis of the new digiDEM Bayern offering, its strengths, and the high reliability and validity of the results of the memory performance assessment.

Against the backdrop of widespread half-truths and fake news, evidence-based science is in demand. It is more important than ever to communicate scientific findings in a way that is understandable to society and to promote exchange about them. As the digiDEM Bavaria project team, we want to contribute to this, now also with digiDEM Bavaria Science Watch LIVE.

  1. Until now, the topic of „dementia“ has not concerned me. A report in our local newspaper led me to „digidem-bayern.“ I find the presentations and information very well organized and easy to understand.
Everything has convinced me to continue engaging with this topic. I will likely aim for the test as well.
    Thank you!
    Sincerely
    Fritz Rosenstein
