The Demenz Podcast has been released monthly since April 2019, free of charge, with information for anyone interested in the topic of dementia. A podcast is an audio program (similar to a radio program) that is not tied to fixed broadcast times but can be accessed and listened to at any time via the Internet.
Each episode of the Dementia Podcast covers a specific topic and lasts about 30 minutes. The author and host of the Dementia Podcast is Christine Schön, who has been a radio writer for 20 years, specializing in aging and dementia, and is the editor of the series “Hörzeit – Radio wie früher” for people with dementia. The Dementia Podcast offers concrete support for many questions from people living with dementia and their loved ones. Christine Schön interviews professional caregivers, representatives of the Alzheimer’s Association, doctors, people living with dementia and their loved ones, psychologists, and other experts.
The Dementia Podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Podscout, gPodder, and, of course, the website demenz-podcast.de. Please note: The podcast is currently only available in German.
From May 2021 onward, it will be published jointly by the German Alzheimer's Association and medhochzwei Verlag.
